Vertical Farming, speculative design, Post Growth Imaginaries
Collaboration with Oscar Tucker, Emma Fitzgerald and Cerys Bessell

The challenge:
Use speculative design to imagine a world in which resources become finite. Create a solution within the context of the current climate crisis and design a society where the efficient use of alternate resources is incorporated into everyday life and visualise a desirable future.
The response:
we envision a new system that makes use of empty carparks and encourages people in urban areas to grow their own food. Multi-Storey Farming is a government initiative that repurposes disused carparks to function instead as urban farms in order to increase the local food supply and encourage a sense of community and collective responsibility.
